Cosmetics

The modern cosmetics industry relies on high-quality ingredients to develop effective, natural, and skin-friendly products. At Ceras Martí we have a wide range of clays and natural waxes for cosmetic formulation.

Natural Clays

Clays benefit the skin with their purifying and remineralizing properties.

  • Green clay is famous for being absorbent and detoxifying. Ideal for oily or combination skin, it is used in masks, exfoliants, and scalp products because it deeply cleanses without irritating the skin.
  • Brown clay offers a gentle exfoliation, perfect for sensitive skin. It is used in masks and treatments to revitalize the skin and improve its appearance without causing irritation.

Waxes and Paraffins

Natural waxes have wide applications in cosmetics, especially in products requiring a creamy texture or providing a protective barrier.

  • Beeswax, both bleached and yellow, is one of the most valuable ingredients in cosmetics due to its emollient, protective, and moisturizing properties. Its ability to form a barrier over the skin without blocking pores makes it ideal for lip balms, moisturizers, and lotions. Additionally, beeswax provides a firm and rich texture to formulas, enhances their stability, and prolongs their moisturizing action.
  • Carnauba wax, of plant origin, is primarily used in lipsticks and liners for its ability to increase the hardness of the final product and provide a shiny and resilient finish. Furthermore, it is known for its high melting point, making it ideal for cosmetics that need to maintain their shape in warm conditions.
  • Candelilla wax is a vegan alternative to beeswax and is used in products like balms, creams, and lotions to provide a soft texture and light protection without leaving a greasy feel on the skin.
  • Coconut wax and soy wax are natural emollients that nourish the skin and are used in moisturizing creams and lotions. These waxes are especially useful in products for dry skin as they help restore the skin’s natural barrier and retain moisture.
  • Paraffin is valued for its ability to seal moisture in the skin and enhance its softness. It is used in moisturizing treatments for hands and feet, facial masks, emollient creams, and hair removal products.
