Natural fatty acids
Fatty acids are natural components of fats and oils. From a chemical standpoint, they are biomolecules constituted by lipids.
In the industry, fatty acids are natural acids of organic origin obtained from the distillation and decomposition of oils and fats. Our fatty acids are derived from vegetable oils, mainly from palm.
There are many fatty acids, with different chemical structures. All of them are composed of a carbonyl group and a hydrocarbon chain that varies in length but is almost exclusively unbranched.
It is obtained from the hydrolysis, hydrogenation, and distillation of palm oil. It is solid at room temperature, virtually odorless, and generally white in color, although it may have a slight yellow tint.
It is a very versatile component that can be used in multiple branches of industry and serve various functions.
Its main applications focus on the production of waxes, lubricants, soaps for cosmetics or detergents, rubber, water repellents, or candles, where it can be used alone or in combination with paraffin.
Our stearic acid is highly sought after for the production of stearin candles and can be combined with our candle colorants.
