High Gloss Transparent Candle Lacquers

  • Aesthetics: They improve the appearance of candles, making them more visually appealing.
  • Customization: They allow a wide range of colours and finishes, making it easier to customize according to customer preferences.
  • Safety: Water-based lacquers are safer for the environment and for those who handle them.

Applications and Tips

When applying lacquers it is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Generally, it is recommended to apply the lacquer in thin, even layers, allowing each layer to dry completely before applying the next. This ensures a smooth, long-lasting finish.

In short, candle lacquers are an excellent choice for those who want to improve the quality and appearance of their candles. With a variety of types and finishes available, it is possible to find the perfect lacquer for any candle project.

Steps for Applying Lacquer to Candles

Applying lacquer to candles can be a simple process if you follow a few basic steps. Here is a guide to doing it correctly:

  1. Preparing the Work Area:
  • Make sure you are working in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling fumes.
  • Protect the work surface with newspaper or plastic to prevent stains.
  1. Cleaning the Candles:
  • Before applying the lacquer, wipe the candles with a soft cloth to remove any dust or dirt. This will help the lacquer adhere better.
  1. Selecting Lacquer:
  • Choose the appropriate lacquer based on the finish you desire (gloss, satin, etc.). Make sure the lacquer is compatible with your candle wax.
  1. Applying Lacquer:
  • Shake the lacquer container well before use to ensure an even mixture.
  • Test a small area first to see how the lacquer reacts with the wax.
  • Apply the lacquer in thin, even layers. Dip the candle in a firm, quick motion to create a thin, even layer.
  • Let each layer dry completely before applying the next. This can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the type of lacquer and environmental conditions.
  1. Final Drying:
  • Once the final layer has been applied, let the candles dry in a dust-free, well-ventilated area for at least 24 hours to ensure a long-lasting finish.

Additional Tips

  • Temperature and Moisture: Work in an environment with controlled temperature and humidity to avoid drying problems.
  • Personal Protection: Wear gloves and a mask to protect yourself from fumes and avoid direct contact with the lacquer.
  • Storage: Store lacquered candles in a cool, dry place to maintain their finish.
