Description: Carnauba Wax T-3
Carnauba wax T-3 is a type of carnauba wax, derived from the leaves of the Brazilian Copernicia prunifera palm, like Carnauba wax T-1.
It comes in flake format for easy use, as it has a high melting point (between 82 and 86 °C). It is a hard, brittle wax that resists scratches and wear and tear. It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol and ether.
Uses of Carnauba wax T-3
Thanks to its water resistance, high gloss and high thermal stability, this type of wax has multiple industrial applications.
Automotive
It is used to give high sheen and protection to automotive paintwork. Its protective layer helps to repel water and protect the paint from UV rays and contaminants.
Floors
Protects floors from scratches and wear, especially wood floors. Among our products we have two types of carnauba wax emulsions adapted to these applications: Emul CC 40 and Emul CC 40 anti-slip.
Furniture
It is applied on wood to create a layer that shines and protects against daily wear and tear.
Leather Products
Helps waterproof leather and provides a glossy, durable finish.
Cosmetics
It is used as a thickening and stabilizing agent to achieve a smooth, creamy texture in lipsticks, creams and lotions.
Food
It is applied as a protective coating on fresh fruits and vegetables, candies and confectionery products. Adds sheen and prevents moisture loss in food.
Why choose T-3 carnauba wax?
Compared to paraffins and other natural waxes, carnauba wax T-3 has some distinctive characteristics:
- It is harder than most paraffins. This provides greater scratch resistance and long-lasting protection in automotive and cosmetic applications.
- Carnauba wax is considered one of the glossiest natural waxes available. It imparts a deeper, more intense shine than paraffins and other natural waxes, and is therefore popular in lip balms, hair styling waxes, wood preservatives and car polishes.
- Natural character. In some applications where the natural origin of the product is valued, carnauba wax can be an interesting alternative to paraffins, which are obtained from hydrocarbons.
It is also an excellent substitute for beeswax in vegan products.
The main difference between T-3 and T-1carnauba wax lies in its color. While T-3 is darker and orange-toned, T-1 is lighter and yellower.
