Fatty acids are natural components of fats and oils. From a chemical perspective, they are biomolecules made up of lipids.

In industry, fatty acids are natural, organic acids obtained from the distillation and breakdown of oils and fats. Our fatty acids are derived from vegetable oils, mainly palm oil.

There are many fatty acids, each with different chemical structures. They all consist of a carbonyl group and a hydrocarbon chain that varies in length but is almost always unbranched.

Stearic Acid

This is obtained from the hydrolysis, hydrogenation and distillation of palm oil. It is solid at room temperature, practically odorless, and generally white in color, although it may have a slight yellow tinge.

It is a very versatile component, which can be used in multiple branches of industry and fulfills various functions.

Its main applications are focused on the production of waxes, lubricants, soaps for cosmetics or detergents, rubber, water-repellents or candles, where it can be used alone or in combination with paraffin.

Our stearic acid is in great demand for the manufacture of stearin candles, and can be combined with our candle dyes.

Palm Wax

Palm wax is a vegetable wax that is also obtained by hydrogenating and refining palm oil. It is widely used in the candle-making industry, mainly in the production of scented candles, as the large size of its crystals allows the absorption of a higher percentage of fragrance, which is then released evenly during combustion. It can also be combined with dyes to achieve more striking candles.

Palm wax is also used in cosmetics, in soap production and in the biodiesel industry.
